Weekend in NYC

Had a great weekend in NYC last weekend. Gia and I played twice (thank God for hotels away from kids!) in one weekend. That never happens! Cindy also set up a play date with a friend of ours we typically only see at spanking parties, so that was great for her. Great food, good friends, fun entertainment. It was a hell a whirlwind weekend. Got about 12 hours of sleep over three days (had to get up at 3:30 am PDT to fly out Friday, got to bed at 1:30 am EDT Friday night, went to bed at 6:30 am EDT Sunday morning and got up at 9:30 EDT Sunday to go the airport). So much for relaxing weekends...

As Gia always says, "You can sleep when you're dead."

That pretty much sums up our party weekends, too. With FMS' Beach Party just around the corner, better get my sleep in now whilst I can...

  1. Good for you two again! You'll have to make a habit out of this playing together thing, lol. I am glad you two had a fun weekend in my home state!

  2. We had a great time! Too bad we can't seem to do this in OUR home state!

  3. What a fun weekend! And one of my favorite quotes is the one by Warren Zevon.. who said .. "I'll sleep when I'm dead". LOL

So.. by the by.. what show did you guys get to see on Friday night when you were in the City? Did you like it? Did you guys find a good restaurant?

Speaking of 'no sleep'.. I sorta have a feeling FMS is going to be like that for me.. since it's my first party .. I'm going to be on visual overload and it's gonna be hard to shut my brain down and get to sleep. I may have to arrange for a bedtime spanking so I can unwind and get some damn shut-eye. hahaha!

    Thanks for sharing!

  4. Thanks for the comments!

We saw "The Addams Family" musical with Nathan Lane. Great stagecraft!

We managed to get into Coliccio & Sons, Tom Coliccio's newest restaurant in Manhattan. Excellent!

  5. Oh wow Craig! Love the Addams family! And.. how fun that you ate at one of Tom's restaurants! I wonder if he still has "Craft"? Anyhow,.. did you know that Lori Silverbush, Tom's wife.. had a masters degree in cinema from NYU. After graduating college.. she was a waitress at Gramercy Tavern to help pay the bills while she tried her hand at film making. This was back when Tom was involved with the Tavern, and sure enough.. that's how they met. ;-)

  6. I think the new restaurant went into the same location that Craft used to be in.

Great story! Thanks for sharing. Are you a foodie?

  7. rofl.. yeah, I'm a 'foodie'.. My immediate family has had restaurants for generations. (in PA) I've worked from the back of the house to the front. (almost thought about being a restaurateur)

I used to always attend the International Restaurant & Foodservice Show in New York. (omg, was that a blast!)

I not only love to try new cuisine, and taste different things (like at the show in NY), I like to learn about the people behind the food and what makes them tick. :-)

I worked for 7 1/2 yrs for an awesome restaurant in Palm Beach. And I got taught a lot about food by some incredible Chef's that worked there.. and that also taught at the culinary school.

I also love wine tastings.. and champagne as well, and have met Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger when he came to our restaurant to give a seminar about his business.

Did you know that Taittinger was the preferred champagne of "James Bond"? Taittinger was also the first champagne house to get into commercial advertising. (grins)

.. oh dear god.. don't get me started! lol FOODIE? Oh yeah. LOL

  8. I'm a vinophile and a foodie. I think we're going to get along famously. I can't wait to meet you in person at FMS.

I have some great restauranteur stories of my own. Plus, a great (and LONG) Robert Mondavi story to share.

See you in a handful of days. When do you arrive?

  9. Oh fabulous!! We'll have some fun chit chatting for sure! Here is when I'm arriving! LOL (June 3rd at 3pm), and then leaving Sunday afternoon.

I have that 'counter' (click link) on my myspazz profile (just above the comment area)

  10. What do you want me to do there? I don't see what you want me to click/do.

  11. Do? Oh nothing really! LOL.. I was just showing you that I hate 'counting' so much.. (haha!).. that I have one of those countdown counters on my myspace profile.. figured you could see (just for fun) if you copy pasted that link into a browser and scrolled to the bottom right side of my page (just above comments).. and there was my little automatic 'counter' / countdown to when I would be at the FMS party. LOL

    .. no biggy. LOL
